Stephen Alexander "Steve" Ellis, 75, of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on September 15 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 1, 1949, Steve was the son of the late Harold and Joyce Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jannette Ellis. He is survived by his brother, Charles Ellis.
Steve was blessed with a wonderful marriage of 54 years to his beloved wife, Annette Ellis.
Together they built a strong and loving family, raising their daughter, Tina Vaughn, and
son-in-law, Josh Vaughn. He was the proud grandfather of Alex Stone, Adaline Stone, Aiden Stone, Braden and Kendall Vaughn, Kaleb and Nikki Vaughn, and the cherished
great-grandfather of Blakely and Kya Vaughn. He also held dear his nephew Greg and Joy Ellis and their children Jordan and Chandler, as well as his niece Shannon Kesler and her children Nick and Courtney.
A lifelong resident of Rossville, Steve began working as a teenager at G&M Furniture before becoming the owner and operator of Ellis Tool Service, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in 2018. A 1968 graduate of Rossville High School, he later attended Walker Tech.
Steve's greatest joy was his faith and service to the Lord. For 48 years, he was an active member of Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, missions treasurer, Sunday school teacher and church bus driver. Through these roles, he touched countless lives with his kindness, faithfulness, and generosity to the Lord.
Outside of his work and church, Steve enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: mowing and tending his yard, watching westerns, cheering for the Braves and Georgia football, and attending local races. Above all, he treasured time with his family, who will forever remember his kind soul and loving heart.
Funeral services will be held at Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church on [date and time to be determined], led by Pastors George Pinion and Phil Shallebarger.
Steve Ellis leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church from 11a.m. to 2p.m. The Reverend George Pinion will conduct the funeral at 2p.m. in the church.
