Teresa Annette (DeFur) Hicks, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away on April 15,2026 after a courageous battle with leukemia. She dedicated her career to nursing, working at Memorial and Erlanger hospitals, as well as other facilities in the area She was also the proud owner of Sweet T’s cupcakes.

She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Webb DeFur and many other beloved family members. 

She is survived by her father, Robert DeFur, husband, Edwin Hicks; children, Mandy (Greg) Bates, Jamie Couch and Adam Couch; grandchildren, Michael Bates, Savannah Bates, and Kayson Bates; brother, Perry (Jennifer) and nephews, Austin, Zach and Braden DeFur, as well as many other family members.

Her strong faith in God, her selflessness and dedication will be remembered by the countless lives she touched throughout her life. Teresa was truly an angel here on earth.
