Verna L. Karst (née Moores) Verna L. Karst, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 18, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on November 28, 1942, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Moores. Verna's life was marked by kindness, service, and love, touching the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Verna is survived by her devoted husband, Gerry; daughter, Julie (Ron) Satelmayer of Hamilton, Ontario, son, Jeffrey (Arling) Karst of Redlands, California, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kyle, Katherine, and Cora; and younger sister, Elaine (John) Moores of Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. A woman of strong faith, Verna will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Verna was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on January 26, 2025, at the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church at 2:00 PM to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Restore a Child or Restore a Child Canada in her name. Verna leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. She will forever be in our hearts. Sleep on in peace, until we meet again.
