William O. Holder, age 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away at 5:18 am on Saturday December 5, 2020, at NHC of Chattanooga. 'Bill' was born on McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN on August 16,1933, the only child of Clarence and Emma Holder. He met his wife in Miami, Florida and they were married on July 22, 1956. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be remembered fondly in the hearts of many. He was a member of Northminister Presbyterian Church for many years. Bill was a dedicated volunteer and lifelong member of Optimist International, where he held many leadership positions. He worked many years prior to his retirement with Business Graphics of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. He loved his family, music, a good cigar and he never met a stranger. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved grandson J.R. Pearce. He is survived by his wife Billie of 64 years; daughters Je'nice Pearce (Ronny), Sharon Godfrey (Dave), and Michelle Holder (Allan); 17 grandchildren,: Deborah Kearsing (Joe), Barbara Slingerland (Chris), Alicia Kelley (Chad), David Godfrey II (Julie), Christopher 'William ' Brooks, Lauren Pearce, and Brandon Pearce, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A life celebration will be held sometime in January 2021 (date to be announced).
