Eventually, they ended up working together again for a publishing company, where he retired as Publisher.
He spent the majority of his life in the publishing, printing, and advertising industry, with an eye for spotting mistakes a mile away and a photoshop passion for what he called Bill Magic. He even had a cartoon column in a newspaper for a short while called Billy Byrd. He had a deep love of music and was musically talented, having the ability to play by ear the harmonica, accordion, piano, and the ukulele.
Bill was a devoted husband and loving father. He loved to go on adventures and camping trips; he liked to cook and was a master chef in the kitchen and was known for his Chicken-pot-pie. Bill loved to gardenand was especially proud of his cow horn hot peppers and finding that perfect hibiscus plant each year. He was very compassionate towards all animals and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in the backyardeven while in the hospital, he would ask, are you feeding the birds?
The family would like to thank the devoted team of caregivers, nurses and doctors at the Erlanger Health System and also Hospice of Chattanooga, who took such good care of him over the past year as he fought the cancer that overtook his body.
