Winnie Sue Ergle Weathers, 76, of Chattanooga passed on September 5, 2014. Sue grew up in Lawrenceburg, TN and graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1956. She was a devoted wife and followed her husband, Robert, around the globe while he served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1975, they retired from the military and settled in Chattanooga. She was a Charter member of "Helping Hands" and Past High Priestess of Asebi Court, Ladies Oriental Shrine and enjoyed the fellowship and charitable work they provided for burned and crippled children. Sue was predeceased by her parents, William & Martha Ergle, sisters Glenna & Mary, and her loving husband, Robert L. Weathers. She is survived by her two sons, Randall (Saundra) Weathers of Chattanooga; Michael Weathers of Lebanon, TN; three grandsons, 1st Lieutenant Kenneth M. Weathers of South Carolina; Matthew "Max" & Samuel Weathers , both of Chattanooga; her brother H. Gene Ergle of Jacksonville Florida. Her entire family, including in-laws, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren were always near to her heart. The Family recognizes and thanks Special Friends; Ronald "Andy" Anderson and Brenda Shelton for their friendship, devotion and care-giving during the time of need. Visitation is in St. John's UMC from 11a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday September 8th The Rev. Dallas Beck will conduct a prayer service at 1 p.m. in the church. Memorial contributions to may be made to "Helping Hands" , Attn: Martha Cravener, Alhambra Shrine Temple, 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga TN 37421.
