Charles William Henderson

Charles William Henderson, Jr., 71, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on July 12, 2023 at his home with his wife and son by his side. He was born on February 26, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Charles, affectionately known as Charlie, was a man who lived every moment of life to its fullest.

Charlie spent several years serving his country in the United States Air Force. After honorably serving in the military, Charlie pursued a fulfilling career as a pipefitter with Local 43 and Chattem Drug.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Charlie had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He found joy in golfing and karaoke. Charlie thrived in outdoor settings, finding solace sitting under the maple tree in his front yard or while camping in Crossville, TN. However, his heart truly belonged to his beloved wife, Sandy, and their cherished pug, Chloe. The time spent with them brought him immeasurable happiness.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Sandy Henderson; son, Eric (Melissa) Henderson; stepson, Ray (Sarah) Cresswell; grandson, Mason Cresswell; stepson, Easton Cresswell; sister, Connie (Gary) McDonald; and nephew, Brent McDonald. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles Henderson, Sr., and Lucille Gravitte Henderson. The void left by Charlie's passing will be deeply felt by his family and numerous friends, but his zest for life will forever remain in their hearts.

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on July 29, 2023, starting at 4:00 p.m. The event will take place under the shade of his favorite maple tree, located at his home, 1135 Copperwood Drive, Hixson, Tennessee, 37343. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and pay their respects to this extraordinary man.
