Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Doris Potts Sherrill, 87 of Hixson, TN. She was a graduate of Hixson High School and a lifelong member of Hixson United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, seamstress and enjoyed attending Sammy Gooden’s Sunday School Class. She was also a great cook.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marion Sherrill; parents, John Lamar Potts and Mary Maughan Potts; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wells; son-in-law, Mark Adams.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Adams, Jennifer (Erick Wood) Sherrill; grandsons, Josh & Jonathan Adams; great-grandson, Benjamin Adams; sisters-in-law, Patricia Gilbert, Pam Rowan; many nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 from noon to 1 p.m. at Hixson United Methodist Church in the Old Sanctuary “The Chapel”, 5301 Old Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN. The Reverend Dr. Charles Starks will conduct the memorial service in the church at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hixson United Methodist Church, 5301 Old Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.
