Douglas Aho, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was born in Hancock, Michigan to the late Edward Aho and Saime Marie (Waisanan) Aho.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joan, and son, Wayne.
He is survived by sons, Mark (Whitney), Craig (Brigitte); daughter, Constance (Brian), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Douglas was blessed with a long life filled with joy and love, a beautiful marriage to the love of his life, and a large family that loved him dearly. A faithful Christian, he was always ready to share his faith with others and by supporting ministries.
He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force. After retirement from the USAF, he worked at TVA and Lockheed Martin before enjoying retirement years with family and traveling. He had moved to the Bradenton/Sarasota area to be close to family after the passing of his wife.
A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, November 9th, in Sarasota, Florida. He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery alongside his beloved wife and son.
