Mr. Homer Lewis Morris, of Rossville, GA, passed away, Saturday, May 4th following an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Morris and son, Kelvin Morris.
Homer is survived by his children; Wendell Morris, Leslie Bruce and Barry Morris; four grandchildren; Ricky Ogles, Kyndel Morris Stumpff, Chandler Morris and Cody Morris-Williams; two great-grandchildren; Louie Stumpff and Evelynn Ogles; sister, Francis Morris and multiple nieces and nephews.
Homer was born in Sumpter, South Carolina. He has been a 65 year resident of Rossville. He was a member of Fairview Methodist Church in Rossville. He served in the US Army, worked his entire career at Dupont in Chattanooga and was a long time Vendor at the Farmers Market in Rock Springs, GA. He loved football especially his Clemson Tigers. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren participate in various sports.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations may be made to the Kelvin Lane Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund at Clemson University, Student Financial Aid Office, 601 Sikes Hall, Box 345123, Clemson SC 29643.
The family will receive visitors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May ,11th, at Fairview Methodist Church, 2112 McFarland Ave. Rossville GA, with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at 9 Barnhardt Circle, Fort Oglethorpe GA 30742.
