Joann Hill Chism

Joann Hill Chism, 97, went home to her Heavenly Father and to be with the love of her life Dr. Cecil Clark Chism on October 10, 2023. She was a native of Bradley County and lived most of her life in the historic district of Cleveland on Ocoee Street. She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Urb Bacon Ollie Hill of Bradley County as their only child, on November 11, 1925.

She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years and her proud parents, as well as a special pet, Miss Kitty, whom she loved very much.

She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she served in many social events including being a debutante.  She was always an elegant and beautiful lady.

She was retired from TVA after 40 years of service. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.

She leaves behind a very special friend, caretaker and adopted daughter, Deanie Sample of Cleveland whom you would see taking her on her daily drives around town. She will be forever missed.

At her request no services will be held.

Interment will be at New Friendship Baptist Church.
