Lois Moore Jones

Lois Moore Jones, 73 of Ooltewah, TN was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

As a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she fulfilled many roles in her life…from homemaker to truck driver, and pretty much anything in between. She seldom had a conversation without mentioning her faith in “Father God.” Next to her love for Christ, she loved and cherished her family more than anything else.

In addition to spending time with her family, she also loved flowers, gardening, singing and playing musical instruments, and writing songs. She really loved poetry…she wrote many, many poems. However, she never took credit for her writings…she’d always say “God gave me another poem”, or “God gave me another song.”

Her love, humor, and her countless authentic sayings will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. We can take great comfort in knowing, because of her faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that she will now spend an eternity in Heaven with Him. Best of all, those of us who remain and know Christ also have the blessed hope of an eternity with Him, as well as being reunited with Lois and all of those who died in Christ and have gone on before us…throughout eternity!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee A. Moore and Susie J. Bidwell; husband, Jesse Jones; brother, Joe Morgan; sisters, Anna Lou Moore, Leatha Callahan, Dorothy Garner, Joyce Powell, and grandson, Corey Williamson.

Survivors include her children; Alicia (Gary) Womack, Eric (Tomi) Williamson, Philip (Lori) Williamson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Mary) Moore and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Cleveland Church of God, 1846 Volunteer Dr SW, Cleveland, TN. Evangelist Gary Womack will conduct the service in the church at 7 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at McDonald Eastview Cemetery, 8004 McDonald Cemetery Rd, Ooltewah, TN.
