Obituary

Sister Margaret Kelly passed into the arms of Jesus on April 1, 2023. Born in Washington, DC on October 2, 1928, she later joined the Carmelite order in Indianapolis, IN. Sister worked for a number of years in Haiti as a Carmelite nun. She had a passion for service, and received permission from the Bishop to move to New York, where she worked as an RN in Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY until her late retirement.

Sister came to Alexian Village, a Catholic Continuous Care Retirement Community on Signal Mountain in 2015 and enjoyed her final years here making many friends. She was a selfless, kind, funny and compassionate person who will be missed by many. There will be a Catholic Mass at the St. Augustine chapel at Alexian Village on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:15, followed by a reception in Alexian Village Gold Room

Sister had close friendships with many employees at Alexian Village. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alexian Village Scholarship Fund, 437 Alexian Way, Signal Mountain, TN 37377 which provides scholarships to many of our hourly employees
