Mitchell Scott Sharpe

Mitchell “Scott” Sharpe, age 55, of Bradenton, FL, went home to be with the Lord, June 1, 2021.

Formerly of Cleveland, TN, Scott graduated with honors from Cleveland High School and later earned his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Tennessee Technological in Cookeville, TN. He also obtained his Paralegal certification from Chattanooga State.

Scott had a loving and caring spirit, never wanting to be the center of attention and always putting others first.  He was known for his quirky, dry sense of humor and loved all things Andy Griffith.

He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland, TN.  Scott was passionate about the ministry of Camp Cherokee and served as an Intern and camp counselor. The Scripture Romans 8:28 was especially meaningful to him:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Rom. 8:28 NIV

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Charlton Kendall Sharpe; his grandparents, Archie and Wilma Sharpe and Melvin and Clara Honeycutt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sharon Geralyn (Eiswerth) of Bradenton, FL. His mother, Iris LaRae Sharpe; brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Valerie Sharpe.  He and Sharon also have three special beloved dogs: Gracie, Roscoe and Rex. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Elizabeth Eiswerth; Steven Eiswerth, Susan (Eiswerth) and Burl Horton, Sally (Eiswerth) and Aaron Shipman. Nieces and nephews: Ben and Katie Horton, Andrew Eiswerth, Jake Sharpe, Gabriela Horton, Brian Shipman and Tara Shipman.

Visitation will be Monday, June 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Pastor Jim Gibson will conduct a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. in the church.
