Paul George Leistner, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed on into Jesus' Arms a few days before Resurrection Day on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
On November 27, 1934, Paul was born to George and Anna Leistner in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Farragut high school, he moved on to LeTourneau College. As a freshman, he was chosen to serve with LeTourneau's land development/missions project in Liberia.
His wife, Nancy Richardson, was a Southern Belle from Savannah, Georgia. They met in a Bible study where he led the singing, and she played the piano.
Paul served with the US Army in Germany. He retired from being a "Cost Estimator" at Lockheed Martin in Huntsville, Alabama.
As a devoted husband, Paul lovingly cared for his wife “in sickness and in health” until she was called to heaven in 2012. He supplied for his family, sacrificing his own needs to support his family. In addition, he led them spiritually, through Scripture study/prayer, and to love God with all their hearts.
God gave him the gift of serving behind the scenes, always looking for ways to be helpful. He was a friend to the friendless – whoever needed a friend (following the loving example of Jesus.)
"Paul was preceded in death by his sweet wife of 55 years, Nancy, and his brother Elbert." He is survived by 2 sons and a daughter, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.
Since Paul was wholeheartedly active in Good News Clubs, the family requests that in place of flowers, donations be made to CEF of Greater Chattanooga, PO Box 3523, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
The funeral service will be held on, Friday, April 22, at 11 AM at Stanley Heights Baptist Church, where Paul was a member and served faithfully.
