Paul Lebron Putnam, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Paul graduated from Rossville High School where he played football. He started a cricket hatchery in Rossville, selling them to local bait and tackle shops. He was the operations manager at the Chattanooga Times and worked to merge the Free Press and the Chattanooga Times to create the Times Free Press. He was the Vice President of Target Graphics before retiring. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and loved to golf and ride horses. He was a great friend to many, who never met a stranger and will be sorely missed by all. Paul was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Callie Putnam; sisters, Claudine Jones, Alice Putnam.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Barbara Putnam; sister, Wanda (Bill) Dunagan; daughters, Cindy Putnam (Terry) Burns, Donna Putnam (Les) Jones, Jeanna (Daryl) Somers; son, Paul Lebron (Jody) Putnam, II; 35 grandchildren and great-grandchildren with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lookout Baptist Church. The Reverend Terry Burns will conduct the celebration of life at 2 p.m. in the church.
