Paulette McKinney, 71, of Chattanooga TN, formerly of Newcomerstown OH, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday July 9, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Paulette was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 25, 1948 to the late Homer Goode and Frankie Goode Turner. Along with her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Larry; her sister, Linda Goode, and her brothers, Charles and Danny Goode.
In her younger years, Paulette, along with her family, entertained the Cleveland TN area every weekend by singing on the local radio station. Later, she enjoyed entertaining friends and family by singing, playing the guitar and the spoons. Over the years, Paulette worked as a newspaper reporter, waitress, and small business owner. She had a strong faith in God, and took pride in being a true lady.
Paulette is survived by her children Ralph "Sam" (Dawna) McKinney, Lawrence "Larry" (Heather) McKinney, and Laura (Brian) Parks; Sisters, Frances Blanco, Dorothy Juarez, and Pauline Lopez; her grandchildren, Amanda, Madison, Caleb, Ethan, Avery, Rachel, Allison, and Alicia; Great-grandchildren Lillie and Evrit; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Connie McKinney; best friend Melanie Woodby, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jolene, Andrea, Laura, and the rest of the Hospice of Chattanooga staff for the wonderful care and friendship provided to Paulette.
The family will receive friends at Hickory Valley Christian Church Tuesday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Chaplain David Reynolds will conduct the service at 11:30 a.m. in the church.
Paulette will be laid to rest with her husband in the Chattanooga National Cemetery following the funeral.
