Ralph Vernon Brandon, age 82, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Monday, December 28, 2020 at NHC Health Care in Rossville, Georgia where he was a beloved resident.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Mr. Brandon is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Catlett Brandon, his father Webster T. Brandon, sister Mildred McKeown, sister Geneva Oswalt, brother Thomas Brandon Jr., brother Eugene Brandon, brother Herman Brandon, sister Reba Brandon, sister Jessie Griffith, brother Delbert Brandon, brother Bobby Brandon, and sister Wanda Cross.
Ralph is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherish their memories of their fun-loving Uncle Ralph.
Ralph was born on January 3, 1938 as the baby brother of ten brothers and sisters. Ralph was the caboose.
Ralph enlisted into the United States Army at the age of seventeen and completed a Cook’s Course to become a cook during his service time. He then served in the Army Reserves until 1963 and received an honorable discharge.
Ralph lived in the Miami, Florida area close to forty years where he worked as a carpenter specializing in sheetrock installation.
Ralph moved back to Rossville in 2005 and helped care for his sister Jessie during her cancer treatments. He sat with her in the hospital, and at the rehabilitation center and helped with her physical care at home until she passed.
After Jessie passed, Ralph lived in her home in Rossville until 2017 when he became a resident at NHC Health Care until he passed.
