Rhonda Ilene Spence, 56, of Ringgold met Jesus face to face on January 23, 2023, while surrounded by her family. Rhonda has fiercely battled cancer for over 10 years and is now fully healed in perfect faith and has joined the saints and angels in eternal worship of the King. Rhonda was born on August 6, 1966, and spent her life, even from a young age, telling others of the precious gift of Salvation that is ours through the love of God. She committed her love and life to Stephen Spence on March 28, 1987. Together, they have spent 35 wonderful years working to raise their children, Stephen Hunter and Madison, and proclaim Truth in both word and deed.
Rhonda was a treasured wife, cherished mother, faithful friend, wise mentor, devoted teacher, and bold disciple. As we remember and celebrate her beautiful life, we cannot help but think of her constant testimony of God's love and steady devotion to her family. Steve, Madison, Hunter and his wife, Katya, are sincerely thankful for the overwhelming love and support that has been offered by family and friends.
Rhonda will be buried privately at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN, according to her wishes. The family will receive company on February 4, 2023, beginning at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary of Eastwood Church (4300 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, Ooltewah, TN). The Celebration of Life service will begin at 5:00pm, with a fellowship meal to follow. The family asks that any flowers, gifts, or love-offerings be given as donation to a Missions program. Rhonda may suggest Abiding Life Church at Clarkston (www.gotell1040.com) as a Missions Ministry to support monetarily and prayerfully.
All who knew Rhonda will grieve her bitterly, remember her fondly, and rejoice in comfort and hope as she has been completed in glory with her Savior.
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words." - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
