Susan M. Bradford (Kowalski), 64, born in Gary, Indiana on August 17th, 1958, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father Frank J. Kowalski Jr., mother, Phyllis Mae Kowalski, brother, Gregory Edward Kowalski, and brother-in-law, Michael B. Pleasant.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 30-plus years, Michael G. Bradford. She also leaves behind her four children, Robert T. Parker Jr. (Aaron Kay) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Michelle S. Haman (Curtis) of Dunlap, Tennessee, Kristina D. Krause of Hixson, Tennessee, and Jessica N. Blair (David) of Hixson, Tennessee. Her 8 Grandchildren, Jacob Parker, Zack Blair, Delilah Haman, Kaylee Blair, Dante Haman, James Parker, Darcee Haman, and Ben Blair. Also, her brother Frank J. She was a 1976 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and received her degree in Medical Technology from Cleveland State Community College, graduating in 1985. Over the course of 25 years, she dedicated herself to her work and built strong relationships and friendships through her roles at Allied Laboratories, Labcorp, and Memorial Hospital.
She had a deep love for reading and found pleasure in solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also had a passion for sewing and often created special items for her beloved grandchildren. Susan was not afraid to attempt to create, (some projects worked out better than others) but being in the creative zone always brought her lots of joy. She was skilled at oil painting and also created a variety of jewelry pieces. Some would say she was a "Pinterest or Etsy Influencer" before it was cool! Thanks to the hours of research and attention that she devoted to the Food Network, her family enjoyed many courses of food together. Before her health declined, she and Mike enjoyed traveling together; one of her favorite destinations was the beach. She loved a good walk by the ocean and eating fresh seafood.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Covenant Funeral & Crematory with a funeral mass being held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415 on June 2nd, 2023 at 11:30am. She will also be interred in her final resting place in the columbarium on the church grounds.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite organization in her name.
