Thomas Freeman Stamps, dedicated father, loving husband, and passionate grandfather, passed away on the morning of Thursday, October 21st. Tom succumbed to cancer but passed in his home, with loved ones, while sleeping. Tom was a beloved husband, father; grandfather, brother, son and friend.
Tom is survived by his darling wife and love of his life, Sandra Stamps; as well as his daughter, Kristin Stamps Nalley and his mother, Mary.
Tom was born on October 11th, 1945 in Knoxville, TN to Paul and Mary Stamps. Tom was one of five children including Paulie, Karen, Mike, and Anne. Tom was also an honored military veteran who served during the War in Vietnam.
Tom enjoyed traveling, golfing with his friends and son-in-law (Chuck), spending time with his adored grandsons, Trey and Freeman, and cheering on his beloved Vols. Tom was full of life and never met anyone whom he couldn’t become immediate friends with. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life for loved ones on November the 6th at the La Quinta Inn at Hamilton Place from 11am to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Autism Speaks.
