William M. Woodliff

It is with great sadness that the family of William M. Woodliff (a/k/a Mike Wood) shares the news of his passing on October 24, 2021, at the age of 72.

Mike was born in Birmingham, Alabama and lived most of his life in the Six Mile and Birmingham area until moving with his family to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2005. Mike worked as a radio broadcaster for more than 35 years. You may have heard him in Birmingham on WERC Talk Radio, WMJJ, Alabama Radio Network, or Radio Video Active with Dee Sloan. More recently, Mike developed his own traffic radio network and was a familiar drive-time personality on many local stations, including 97.3/99.3 with Susie Q, Moody Radio, and News Channel 9 TV in Chattanooga.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda Carolyn (Anglin) Woodliff; daughters, Tara (Josh) Murphy and Amy Dawn Harris; grandchildren, Katie Turney (Noah Rist), Jackson Murphy and Olivia Murphy; brother, Danny Woodliff; cherished mother-in-law, Everna Anglin; and a host of beloved friends.

Mike was the son of the late William Vester Woodliff and Alma Battles Woodliff. Celebration of Life services will be November 7 in Chattanooga, TN. Contact lwoodliff48@outlook.com for details.
